Verse of the Day

Philippians 1:6
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Praised be Jesus Christ!

Dear People of Saint Catherine Parish,

We profess in the Creed every Sunday and Holy Day that we believe in "One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church."  Often we tend to be limited in our focus.  For example, we lose sight of the bigger picture and either focus only upon our parish here in Horsham, while at other times we focus upon the Holy Father in Rome or certain places throughout the world.  We can forget the connection, that we are "One".  But what if we could focus upon our being with all of them, all of the time?  We are part of the bigger picture whether we think about it or not.  The entire Church throughout the world is present in the work we do here in Horsham, and we in Horsham are present wherever the Church does God's work anywhere in the world.  We know by faith that the Eucharist we receive here at St. Catherine's places us into "communion" with all other Catholics in the world, all of the time.

This website is prepared as an attempt to present one small part of the Universal Church - the part of believers who live in Horsham. We profess our faith and do the work of preparing for God's kingdom in our small corner of the world.  Since our parish church is dedicated to God in honor of Saint Catherine of Siena, we ask her intercession to Our Lord Jesus Christ.  As a parish, we place ourselves under the patronage of the Holy Mother of God who was present at all of moments of her Son's life, and guards over the Body of Christ still, the Church.

           In Christ,

                            Father Joseph Rymdeika

Daily Quote
"We keep the eighth day [Sunday] with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead."
-- Letter of Barnabas 15:6-8 (A.D. 74); just one of many early writings indicating the infant church in Apostolic times set apart Sunday for the public and solemn worship of God
