    Announcements and Congratulations

Do you have a wedding or birth announcement that you want to share with the parish? How about congratulating your child for a promotion or graduation or wishing someone a happy birthday/ anniversary!

Send the information to Debbie at dyoung.scs@gmail.com alone or with a picture in jpeg form if you want and I will post it on our parish website for you to share.

Parishioner Michael O’Neill will be running the Boston Marathon to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Michael has been volunteering with AFSP since 2020 when he had the opportunity to bring an Out of the Darkness Walk to Georgia Tech. AFSP is a great organization and every dollar donated goes towards the organization’s work to fund scientific research, educate the public, advocate for public policies, and support survivors and those affected by suicide. If you don’t have the means to donate, please share his cause and check up on a friend or loved one today. Please follow this link to support Michael in his endeavor to raise money for mental health awareness.

I will be entering my third year of formation with the Capuchin Franciscan friars. It is a religious order who follows the rule of Saint Francis with attention to contemplation and fraternity.  I will be going to Catholic University to get a Masters in Social work.  I will also take 3 theology class while I am there as well.  I will be called a student friar while I spend my years at Catholic College in Washington D.C.  The ministry I will be a part of this year will be helping out an African American parish in Baltimore, MD called Saint Ambrose.

I will pray for you and the parish as it continues to grow into the image of Christ.

    Joseph Morton OFM Cap.
