    St. Vincent de Paul

    Picture
Inspired by Gospel Values, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul , a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of it’s founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, Saint Vincent de Paul. One of the oldest and most successful charitable organizations in the world, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization of approximately 700,000 people throughout the world who volunteer to seek out and provide person-to-person aid to the poor and needy in 144 countries on five continents.

The Society’s personalized involvement makes the work of the organization unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or direct dollar or in-kind services. An essential precept of the Society’s work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served.

    SVDP is looking for volunteers

Do you have a few hours a month that you would like to spend volunteering?  If so, please consider joining the Society of Saint Vincent DePaul.

Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization made up of volunteers who work together to promote the spiritual holiness of our members and those in need.  One way we fulfill this objective is by operating a food pantry that is located in the church hall and operates every Saturday morning.

We need volunteers on Saturday mornings to pack bags of food, sort donations, distribute food through our drive through pantry, make deliveries to our home-bound neighbors in need, and/or pick up donations from Giant.  We also need assistance on Wednesday evenings to stock our shelves.

You can join one of our five teams and volunteer every 5th week when you’re available or just come any Saturday to check out what we do to see if you’re interested.

If you have an interest or have questions, please leave us a message at 215-734-0262 or email svdp19044@yahoo.com

An article from Catholicphilly.com about our SVDP

The Horsham parish's St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry feeds and supports some 100 families each week in Montgomery County, and aids parishes and Catholic ministries in the city.

We have had a partnership with Giant (in Horsham) for a couple of years. They provide us with donations of food, bread, baked goods, and sides for our Thanksgiving/Christmas dinners. They are hosts for our annual Fill a Police Car Event. They have also done several fundraising efforts for which they collected thousands of dollars on our behalf.

31 Giant Stores were being acknowledged for their community involvement and the Horsham Giant was the only one in the local area receiving this recognition.
Today, we were asked to be at the Giant for a special presentation. We had no idea what to expect, but were thrilled beyond words to receive $5,000 for the SVdP Pantry.

We are grateful for our partnership with Giant and for the many blessings that we continue to receive.
